Stonehenge was a huge arena with several layers of stone pillars , ditches even holes in the ground the original effect of such a structure would have made the hairs stand up on the back of your neck and send shivers down your spine, a massive part of its charm would have been the elongated shadows sprawling across the Salisbury fields every day for thousands of years.
Stonehenge has been restored through the ages most recently in 1963 with the re-erection of “stone 23”, Note the Sphinx takes the title for most reconstructed monument in the world as it has been tampered with more than (Insert Crude Joke Here).

Geology suggests it must be much older dating back to the Neolithic Era due to water erosion found around the enclosure of the sphinx, some even hypothesise the construction date to be around 10500 BC. Since it would have been perfectly aligned with the constellation of Leo (The Lion) at that time.
The fact is between from around 7000 BC up until 3900 BC north Africa experienced extraordinary amounts of rain and this wet period supported a huge ecosystem of Plants Animals and People who all moved in to the area at the time, the Sahara desert was transformed in to a gigantic lush Savannah full of mega lakes and oasis’s.
